Welcome to the community wiki for Davis, California, USA! This project is an interconnected community effort to explore, discuss and compile anything and everything about Davis — especially the little, enjoyable things. This entire site is maintained by the people who use it: Everyone can edit this website!
With ongoing really hot temperatures, please watch for animals in distress! Leave a little dish of water out for outdoor cats in the shade in front areas, watch for dogs left in parked cars, be brave and kindly let folks know who are out in midday walking their dogs that hot pavement burns dogs' feet. We are also seeing more outdoor owned cats in distress as folks are conserving water and there is not runoff for them to drink and less damp shady grass to rest in.
If you see a dog in a parked car, call the police non-emergency line and have the store page the car owner. If you need to, break a window away from the animal so it doesn't hurt them. FYI cars with cracked windows are still too hot and often even if all the windows are open they are still too hot.
The Davis Food Not Bombs chapter has spent the last 18 years feeding anybody who wants or needs food through the generosity of the Davis community. This year they need something a little extra: you! The current members are retiring, leaving the organization without the people needed to keep the traditions of this international movement alive. As the Food Not Bombs Wikipedia article notes, "every chapter of Food Not Bombs operates on consensus. Besides collecting and distributing food for free, many chapters of Food Not Bombs are involved in community anti-poverty, anti-war, and pro-immigrant organizing, as well as other political causes related to social justice." By adding yourself to the mix, you will be helping shape the local collective's voice of this widespread movement dedicated to helping their communities.

Hint: No hints this week!
Hey, Todd, that was way too easy, I just opened Google and Google maps and looked under "Optometrist Davis California" and looked for "23", and then saw 231 (I doubted if that was an 1)... About 1 minute work... :-)
