Anderson Plaza, located on the corner of West Covell Boulevard and Anderson Road, is a shopping center home to several other stores and restaurants. These include:
-
RePlanet Recycling redemption center
-
Save Mart — the anchor business
-
Shell gas station
In general, Anderson Plaza is the ultimate destination for the Sophomore Walk.
The shopping center also includes a statue that many find ugly (and which may actually be functional art covering the pipes and/or wiring that services the plaza).
As of July 2005 there's a guy named Bobby who sings early Elvis outside the Albertson's (now Save Mart) on occasional afternoons. When I first heard him, I thought it was a recording. His name is Bobby and he says he also performs at the Nugget some days. Has anyone actually ever seen this guy?
Former Businesses
Anderson Plaza was formerly known as Lucky Plaza when Lucky Grocery used to be the anchor business. It was replaced by Albertsons, and finally Save Mart.
