Anonymous HIV Testing

Anonymous HIV testing means your identity is unknown. Unlike Confidential HIV Testing, anonymous testing does not associate a person's name with the test or the test results. Instead, you use a pseudonym or a code number to retrieve your results. Depending on the type of test offered, you may receive your results within 30 minutes (OraQuick) or two weeks after the test (OraSure). The sample taken for anonymous testing can be from a finger prick for blood or an oral swab that the patient does on him or herself.

For UC Davis Students

The LGBT Resource Center has free, anonymous HIV antibody testing every other Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Must be a registered UC Davis student. An oral swab is used, so there are no needles or blood. They offer "rapid" results, which means that results are available within 30 minutes. The LGBT Resource Center is located on campus at the University House Annex across from Voorhies Hall. (Show up starting at 5:00 p.m. to make a same-day appointment). Consult LGBT Resource Center website [WWW]http://lgbtrc.ucdavis.edu or Student Health Services [WWW]http://healthcenter.ucdavis.edu/services/hiv-testing.html for quarter-specific dates.

The Health Education and Promotion also offers free, anonymous HIV antibody tests on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. for registered UCD students. They use an oral swab, so there are no needles or blood. Same-day results. (Show up starting at 12:45 p.m. to make a same-day appointment) For more information, please consult the [WWW]HEP website, [WWW]Student Health Services or call 530-754-7000.
