2008-04-06 20:58:28   Which columns should be retained? What should the sorting be? Where can we get a more complete list to work from? —JasonAller

The column in the spreadsheet:

Location Address Phone Number # Units distance from campus unitrans lines website phone filled? management company waitlist starts on? 1 BR 1 Bath 2 BR 1 Bath 2 BR 2 bath 3 BR 1 Bath 3 BR 2 Bath Parking Parking cost water garbage electricity gas NWP bill(National Water and Power bill) cable dsl cable modem phone lease length appliances last renovated? carpet? Color? davis model lease parking sticker Central AC Central heat AC window unit heat wall unit "switch between AC and heat or under control of complex?" noise level cats allowed? dogs allowed? asbestos? washer and dryer inside coin operated washer/dryer gyn bike rack

one alternative

Name Address Phone Number # Units Managed by Transportation Parking Costs Last Updated Utilities Pets
["XXX Apartments"] 123 Blue Lane 756-0000 110 ["Company"] by key by key $800/1,1 $900/2,1 April 2008 by key by key

where each key summarizes the topic

2008-04-06 21:37:46   Perhaps each row can be given its own wiki page (in a row template). The main page for each apt would then show the appropriate row, and the matrix would be built from all of the rows (in frames, perhaps?). So editing a row would automatically populate the matrix.

I would keep all of the columns, since you don't know what someone is really looking for. A checkbox or color key to help make the table more readable is a good idea. —IDoNotExist

2008-04-06 22:05:27   This would also be really good to do with a database backend, but as JW previously pointed out, the wiki isn't really designed around that. Perhaps there could be a web front end to a database which would be used to input data, and then wiki pages would build the appropriate table rows from the database. —IDoNotExist
