This page is for discussing the contents of Bistro 33.
How to improve the page
The page's main text is actually very very small considering the number of reviews people have written.
How to improve the reviews readability
I'm moving most of the reviews to this page, so that it can be cleaned up. I think that some of it has gotten out of hand. The reviews should tell people what to expect at the restaurant - good or bad, and maybe encourage the restaurant to keep it up or improve. I'm wondering how long reviews should stay on the page, especially for a new restaurant that is working kinks out. Including a fights that occur in the restaurant could be taken as pro or con - either adding to the excitement of an evening out in Davis or thought to ruin the diner's experience.
Some ideas:
-
There's a lot of reviews. Move well written ones to the top of each section (positive/negative).
-
group together some similar reviews ("bad drinks")/etc?
-
While clustering reviews by Pro/Mixed/Con is somewhat helpful, it makes it far more difficult to read just the most recent reviews. Being able to get an idea of whether a restaurant is improving or declining over time is important.
-
This makes sense. How do we improve the readability of so many comments in this case?
-
What about color coding negatives red, positives green, and leaving mixed reviews black or something? Makes it more difficult for the commenter unless some sort of macro is created that allows commenters to assign a positive or negative rating with a single click. Anyway, the color coding retains the historical timeline, allows the commenter to assign his/her own spin and still makes it easy for the reader to quickly differentiate between positive/negative reviews. —AlphaDog
