So, what is with
these edits? Are they different, the same or what? -jw
2009-09-25 08:50:16 I think we need MasonMurray to weigh in. He is the one that has been involved with both businesses. The two issues here that I see are:
-
There is a new business name: Cybershield. Is this the same company as Help Computer Services, or different? If it is a different (even if a related company), then the comments from Help Computer Services should not be transferred to the Cybershield page.

I don't think that Brian Tagney (RealComputers) should have any say in the matter whatever. He has a history of negative edits against HCS and of trying to promote his business above other computer services on the wiki. To see the negative edits against HCS, start
here and work your way forward.
You guys are so quick to judge. I thought they had just changed their name. Since Cybersheild is owned by a different owner its obviously not right to say its the same business. However, it is lame that the pricing is exactly the same. Definitely makes it hard to tell that its a seperate business. - Brian
I put a message on MM's page for him to respond. —CovertProfessor
2009-09-25 21:29:22 Cybershield is a new company created by a former college of the (now former) owner of HCS. HCS legally went out of biz, and Cybershield is a new identity. Cybershield did inherit much of the hardware from HCS. The signs have not yet been changed because we are currently having... cash flow difficulties. Further, I work/have worked at both companies which could further lead to confusion. The only two concrete links between the companies are myself, and the location. Comments should not be moved, nor should there be a redirect. —MasonMurray

Ah, okay. Buying out the inventory of a closing business and/or hiring their staff is a common way to start a business (especially ones with specialized equipment like restaurants and auto shops). It makes sense there would be some confusion, but IMO, with a new owner and new name, it's a new business, just as Black Bear is distinct from Baker's Square. A note to that effect under a History header might be a good idea. -jw

I agree with jw. Thanks for the clarification, Mason.
