I started outlining the Visitor's Guide based on AA's comment. Before we go further, we should probably put an idea of what we want to do with the guide. —CM

I'm kind of stumped for ideas, but we need to ensure this is something more than a condensed version of the Front Page. —CraigBrozinsky

I think the key is commentary. Explore is a list of links, but here we can explain a bit, in prose form, and give links. Fluff it up, so to speak.
Fodors has a pretty cool features in their travel guides. They have lists of things to see in an area based on how much time you have and what your interests are. If you like seeing outdoor areas and have a single day, you might start by taking in some of the outskirts areas, have lunch outdoors in Central Park, stroll the Arboretum, etc. If you like art and have two days, a list of museums and retail art stores over two days, restaurants like DoV with art on the walls, etc. It would also make it easier to edit, since editors could list a completely different set of "Must see" points in Davis based on their interests, and focus on working with other editors who share similar interests (as opposed to trying to compare Apples and Oranges). Some ideas would be (and I'm adding a category at the end that is somewhat different):
-
Art Lovers
-
One Day
-
Weekend
-
Outdoors Lovers
-

-
Animal and Agriculture Lovers

Exploring Davis in a Week
Davis for Geeks would include a visit to the Bargin Barn, while Animal and Ag would focus on things like the local bovine population. UC Davis would explore campus and UCD oriented town places. Each would be paced and have directions from one point to the next. —JabberWokky —2nd'ed, I think this is a great idea -CM

If we implement this would each be a subpage? Davis Visitor's Guide/for Art Lovers? It think it might be easier to organize that way. —JasonAller
