The Education Abroad Center offers all UC Davis students, both undergraduates and graduates, three different programs for studying abroad:
UC Education Abroad Program (EAP) — A UC-wide program that provides students with the opportunity to study in another country as an exchange student. EAP offers summer, quarter, semester and year-long programs, and exchanges with over 30 countries including, in alphabetical order, Australia, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark,
Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the UK. Most programs are available to Sophomores or Juniors with a 2.5-3.0 GPA, and ALL majors can study on EAP.
UC Davis Quarter Abroad (QA) — A UC Davis program, formerly Short-Term Programs Abroad, that offers one-quarter length programs to Cuba, Argentina, Spain, Italy, England, Japan, Mexico, and South Africa. These shorter programs are perfect for students who cannot afford—financially or academically—to spend a long amount of time away from Davis. Most programs study Language and Culture. A great feature of QA is that you can often complete 3 quarters of language in one quarter, which is a great way to get language requirements out of the way.
UC Davis Summer Abroad (SA) — A UC Davis program which offers four week, UCD faculty-led programs each summer. The programs offer 8 units of credit by taking UCD courses, so there is no difficulty in transferring units. These programs are open to anyone over 18 with at least 15 college units and a 2.0 GPA. UCD Summer Abroad has almost 40 programs in some 30 different countries, with a variety of courses represented - Food Science, Literature, Engineering, History, and many more. All courses but one are taught in English, so there are no language requirements.
The EAC often has a variety of events and information sessions, especially during International Education Week.
