according to Jim, El Macero is not part of Davis. They have their own post office and zipcode.
While a search for "El Macero" on the
USPS website returns 95618, I can't find the post office on the USPS website. That being said, neither the MU post office nor the Downtown post office are listed. does anyone know more about this?
I have never researched this, I just know from growing up in Davis. If you drive into El Macero's main entrance the post office will be on the right. If you drive around El Macero you will notice no street lights nor sidewalks as those are paid for by the city. I also believe many of the houses on Montgomery and its cross streets are considered county land as well. The trailer park on the south end of Research Park drive is also county land. I am not sure why none of the post offices are listed... ask city councilman Ted Puntillo he used to be the former Davis Postmaster.-JimSchwab
* The El Macero Post Office closed approx. 6-7 years ago. It was a small building at the main entrance. The building has since been demolished and more room was made for the main entrance.- myabrn
The El Macero Post Office Zip Code was 95616. The area code 95618 is the Zip Code for residential street addresses in El Macero. Brian Kent Jones
StevenDaubert says that El Marcero is strictly for "ballers" only! The houses there are reminicent of Beverly hills. One of his ex girlfriends lived there, and the plot her house was on is as big as the plot for Sojourner Truth Garden.
As a Realtor who lives in El Macero, plays golf in El Macero and knows El Macero... email anytime and I will answer questions. There are great fixers and "baller" properties available... sullivanspecialistgroup@gmail.com - Kaethe Sullivan ...ps, the Post Office is long gone! The club has a new chef... Matt Soga running the delicious meals and organizing special dinners. The course is beginning to "green up" and many changes are underfoot. It is a great time for a 'rebirth' of an already good thing.
