Unlike most UC Davis students, Evan Beecher spent much of high school in Davis, and knew the area well in advance. Transferring to UC Davis from the Bay Area in late 2003, Beecher is a Political Science major with also a large interest in history. Beecher, along with Vice Presidential candidate and friend Ryan Basilio, ran as an Independent for the ASUCD Presidency in the Winter 2004 elections. The
Beecher-Basilio ticket earned 450 votes, ending up in a close
third place.
Beecher's politics are best described as fiscally libertarian but socially center-left.
He likes his coffee black—especially the coffee MilesHookey makes for him at his place—and finds French history "boring."
Beecher is also a descendent of the esteemed American novelist
Harriet Beecher Stowe, the writer of Uncle Tom's Cabin.
