NEXT WORKDAY: May 18 :: 11am - 1pm at FARM 2.6
Amount of food we have donated since 2010: 2264.25 lbs
About Farm Davis
FARM is an alternative form of non-violent protest, reclaiming public space to build community, providing services for under served and transient populations and/or rehabilitating toxic land.
We have a 2,000 sq ft plot of land that we are transforming into a highly productive farm. 1/2 of the crop output is donated to low-income and homeless resources. We eat the other half! Currently we are donating crops to the Cesar Chavez residence, where no income/low income and formerly homeless people have a safe place to stay. A counselor there teaches residents how to cook with the food we provide. If you need seeds for your garden, we currently have Rapini broccoli, chard, calendula flowers, poppies, and mustard to offer you (for free of course). We would like you to use the seeds to feed yourself and if you can, to donate half your harvest to someone who needs fresh food. Then save your seeds and give them away to someone else.
We have planned work days that are posted at the top of this page, however, anyone is welcome to stop by whenever they have the time. We are not a hierarchical organization: everyone has an equal say in what and how we will plant and grow food. Feel free to join us whenever you can– no firm commitment ever required.
We have chickens! See our coop building diagram and progress photos below.
