Welcome to the community wiki for Davis, California, USA! This project is an interconnected community effort to explore, discuss and compile anything and everything about Davis — especially the little, enjoyable things. This entire site is maintained by the people who use it: Everyone can edit this website!
For 99 years, The California Aggie has been the newspaper of UC Davis, published by a small army of students working together. Funding itself through local advertisements and providing news for the local community and real world experience for students, it has been a key part of UCD. In recent years, due either to missteps or simple difficulties in managing the rapidly changing media world, the paper is facing a budget crisis that will put an end to it. Like many other newspapers, student and commercial, the Aggie is seeking funding to enable it to survive and be stable enough to weather the changes needed in coming years.
Students are currently voting for or against Ballot Measure 1, better known as Save the Aggie from the 18th through the 21st. A simple majority is not sufficient: the measure must receive 60%+1 vote and see a voter turnout of at least 20% to pass.

Hints for Editing
A good place to start is by checking out the Davis Wiki Guide.
A wiki is a linked set of pages that anybody can edit and contribute to if they have the time, access to internet, and a computer. Wikipedia is the prime example of a successful wiki project. Also, check out Why Wiki Works for some information on the philosophy of wiki.
Feel free to make new pages! — and try to remember to link them. Also, if you don't know where to start or don't have any ideas, check out To Do.
To see the most recent edits made you can look at the Recent Changes page. Also, be sure to check your userpage as people will at times leave you comments on there.
Need help fixing something? — While you can fix almost everything (just create an account and you can edit all content on this site!), sometimes it can be confusing... or you might have found an actual problem with the site itself. Click here to ask for help (or help those in need).
