Grace House, the home of Grace in Action, is operated by Cindy Burger and numerous volunteers. Grace House is on the same block as the Davis Community Church.
Grace House is a place for unsheltered homeless individuals to hang out, get a little food, talk to someone if you are troubled, etc. Their open/closed schedule is posted on the window to the right of the front door. It has an ecumenical foundation. They are very warm and friendly, though they do ask that you sign in. Signatures for use of services is tracked for the purpose of assisting them with funding sources to continue their work. Although the setting is faith-based, "concussion theology" (beating someone over the head with a Bible) is not practiced. They are a welcoming presence for individuals who are unsheltered and struggling with homelessness. Referrals are made to helping agencies as needed. Individual Goal Planning is offered for those who are interested.
