IT Professional Services (formerly "Desktop Enterprise Solutions") is a computer repair service at UC Davis. Their services are available for UCD students and departments. Students are billed directly to their student account, and departments are billed via recharge.
All their services are listed on their website, but for a student that has significant computer issues, this is a great place. Their unit is perfectly equipped for dealing with software problems like massive virus/spyware/adware infestation. (i.e., "my computer turns on but everything is slow and the internet doesn't work right!") . If you have hardware problems like a cracked laptop screen or you spilled coke into your computer, which subsequently caught on fire, they wont be able to help you too much. If in doubt give them a call, they will definitely be able to tell you what they think they can do for you before you hire them.
ITPS can be hired by departments on campus for consulting on various issues, and has also been hired by some departments who have no tech staff at all.
