Start Winter and Spring Quarters at the beginning of the week: meaning Mondays. Students deserve at least 9 days off for spring break and a longer winter break.
Commentary: I know this will be a hard issue to accomplish. However, I am sick and tired of all my other UC friends having more days off than we do, when they are quarter schools also. Even the professors hate how our breaks are short. I know that the academic senate would support this if we wrote a resolution to the administration and I had meetings with the administration. I know that the academic calendar is written a few years in advance, but I think there is a possibility that we can force administration to think twice before giving us a five-day spring break. I live eight hours away and coming up for 2 days of school, in which Friday is a holiday is ridiculous. Just start school the following week like every other UC. Why does school not start on Monday’s in the winter and spring? It is logical. I am not coming up for 2 days of classes when I see my family once a quarter. It is not fair to people who live more than five hours away from home. This is something I am very determined to fight because I am sick of it. As you can see with all my flyers, I am an extremely hard worker and I will fight hard to overturn this old system.

2.) Allow campus parking after 7:00 PM on Fridays.
Commentary: This is simple. The buses end at 7PM on Fridays. If we did a cost-benefit analysis on Taps (MC, MB analysis), we would find they are losing money. Many groups meet on Friday nights when there are no classes, so why do we need Taps this late. I know Taps is the most blood-sucking organization on campus. However, I do not fear and I will confront them.

3.) Make Wireless printing a reality.
Commentary: This is something that would cut the waits at the computer labs. I am not an expert on this technology, but our university is. I hope that with enough pressure, I can make this become a reality in the future.

4.) Add another 24-hour reading/nap room.
Commentary: The school keeps growing and during finals, people cannot find seats in the 24-hour room. There are no 24-hour coffee houses in Davis (but in Dixon), and we need something better than we have. With enough administration pressure, something can be planned in the future.

5.) Fiscal Responsibility within ASUCD.
Commentary: Although ASUCD has been conservative when spending your money this year (except TV’s), there are many funds not used, which are depleting with inflation. For example, the President and V.P. each have a $3,000 and $2000 fund respectively for spending on programs. However, that money has not been spent for years. Either money be spent or be moved somewhere else where it will be spent more wisely. I also believe that a number of units are inefficient within ASUCD.

6.) More microwaves in the MU.
Commentary: Very cheap to implement and will solve the long lines at rush hour.

7.) Sanitary seat covers in the library.
Commentary: Enough said.

8.) Plant more trees.
Commentary: A cheap program to implement which will improve UC Davis for years to come.

9.) Make the “Epic Quad Battle” a yearly school tradition.

10.) Bring back Respect and Reform to ASUCD!
Commentary: A large number of students dislike ASUCD because of their actions and their elitism. I want to fix this and bring back the respect it needs.

Conclusion: Maybe I do not have a lot of experience in ASUCD, but what does that prove. Does that mean you can write retroactive legislation to overturn bylaws? I have plenty of experience in H.S. However, college is not free like H.S. I had to work to support myself. Therefore, I was unable to give 10 volunteer hours a week for ASUCD. I know how to lead and I know what it takes to be a senator. I completed so many hurdles in my life. I have led so many programs. I have managed many restaurants in the past and I even own my own business in Davis. Seriously, experience does not mean anything if you do not know how to lead, you do not have a passion for what you do and you lack courage. I hope you understand. We are not just some dudes trying to make our Résumé’s better! We both already have above 3.00 GPA's. We are students who desire to make a difference on campus. I know other candidates will try to lower us and say that our platforms are impossible to achieve, but I say, “Nothing is impossible.” I feel that if you have a dream, and have a passion to "Ignite" change, and you are willing to take a risk, then nothing is impossible. Their agenda will be very noble indeed and there will be people who say it is impossible. However, I say, "Nothing is impossible and every students can make a different."
