John Dreyer was a candidate for ASUCD Senate in the Fall 2007 ASUCD Election running on the GO slate. He failed to win office.

Earlier during Fall quarter, John was found in the dormitories campaigning. His case was sent to Student Judicial Affairs, and is awaiting a resolution (although it would remain private no matter what is decided). He was allegedly found in the dorms again while the polls were open.

Fall 2007 Election

Candidate Statement

I am a fourth year Pre-med Exercise Biology major with a minor in Chicana/Chicano Studies. I have been on the dean's list, have been an active participant in the Greek community for the last 3 years, and amuse myself with language (I speak English, Japanese and Spanish) and socializing in the little free time I have. My mother is full Japanese and my father is German/South African. I'd like to think I am an interesting breed.

Growing up, as a child, in a culture other than that of the culture I currently live in, I can't help but show the utmost interest in cultural and world-diversity issues. I was born in a little town called Spokanne, Washington. At age 1 I moved to Kyoto, Japan, and I lived there for 7 years. At age 7, I hopped around the States in 1 and 2 year spurts including: Sausalito,CA, Chicago, IL, Portand, OR and now my current residence for the last 10 years, Monterey, CA.

Throughout my busy life so far, I have been constantly soaking in, both consciously and subconsciously, the manner in which human beings act, think and interact amongst each other on a global scale, first hand. Given that, one can understand why I have started to take a keen interest in global, national and even campus politics.

My family and I have traveled around the world every spare second we have. I have visited 38 of our great 50 states for extended periods of time, soaking in the various cultures. I have spent several summers visiting and living in 15 other countries. I am fascinated with this world that we live in. I want to use my outside perspective, as well as opinions from the student body, to help make decisions and changes within ASUCD for the betterment of its individuals.

2007-12-08 01:49:42   According to the Winter 20008 ASUCD Elections page, you're running again. Hopefully you can get some issues asides from being aware and fascinated. —MattBlair
