John Whitcombe is one of the founding members of Tandem Properties. John unsuccessfully ran for the Davis City Council in the 1970s. His father, Harry J Whitcombe, was on the City Council. He has two children. John's son, Joseph, was a practicing lawyer in Davis before managing the Davis real estate company Whitcombe & Co.
John Whitcombe was the senior class president while attending Davis High School. He graduated from UC Davis and then attended Harvard Business School.
He was one of the developers behind the Covell Village project.
He has his own pond in Deep North Davis next to his private residence.
