Mortal Forever is a local band that performs Black Metal/Progressive/Hardcore music. They were established during the hot summer of 2005, originally named "Revelations". It was founded by drummer Anthony Nelson to combat boredom, and as "an excuse to get together with my friends and fuck around with instruments, and be loud, to piss off my mom"

History

Summer of 2005

Although the exact month is not known, Mortal Forever was founded during the summer of 2005, by Anthony Nelson (drums). It first began as him playing drums, along with friends James Blake (guitar), and Cody Craven (guitar), under the name "Revelations". Craven was immediately kicked out (due to lack of talent, and rampant homosexuality), and replaced by Alex DeMarini (guitar, and later to be slide guitar, then switched to banjo, then keyboards, then stood around and banged on a broken drumhead, then just stood there and acted like a dickweed, and currently vox). Blake was replaced by Jody Doyon (guitar). Lacking a good singer, guitarist, and bassist, Alex recruited P.E. locker-mate Tommy Stone (guitar), and his friend Evan Probost (Bass). They briefly changed their name to "Love/Hate". Thus ended Revelations. But due to Jody's hatred of 7th graders, people who listen to H.I.M., and people who take forever deciding what to get at grocery stores, Probost was kicked out. Thus ended Love/Hate.

Summer of 2006

Having fired DeMarini for his erratic drug abuse, and lack of talent on instruments, Stone and Nelson continued to have random practices and songwriting sessions, sometimes accompanied by ex-bassist Probost.

Summer of 2007

In desperate need of a solid bassist, Nelson & Stone agreed to hire snowboarder/bassist Jackson Jordan of Folk/Punk supergroup Sterling Riot. This created a solid lineup (Tommy Stone-Guitar/Vox, Jackson Jordan-Bass, and Anthony Nelson-Drums). After writing and recording songs at Nelson's home, they took their band on the road, and named themselves Mortal Forever. They played 2 shows, one at the Stoney Inn in Sacramento, and one at The Turle House Basement in their hometown of Davis.

2007-Present

During the 2007-2008 school year, the band decided it was time for some changes. They recruited ex-guitarist Alex DeMarini to play keyboards. When they realized he had no talent, they tried him out as vocalist. He was sufficient, and has held the position respectively since. The band then played a show at "On The Y" in Sacramento in early 2008. After the show, the band realized that they needed a lead guitarist to play more intricate solos, and for rhythm portions. After searching for an hour, they agreed on Nelson's classmate Paul (last name unknown). From there on, they have held this lineup for several months, and appears to be a solid one.

Current Members

Anthony Nelson (Lord Nelson)

Anthony began playing drums when he was a kid, and has never looked back. He has been hailed throughout Davis as "The greatest drummer alive". During, a live performance in early 2008, Nelson's double bass skills reached such a high level, that several female audience-members simultaneously had orgasms, and had to lie down so that they didn't pass out. Lord Marco has stated on several occasions that Nelson is "The #1 Davis Fan". Anthony enjoys snowboarding, mayonnaise, and porn.

Tommy Stone

Tommy Stone is an accomplished guitarist from Sacramento. He attends Jesuit School in Sac, and spends his weekends listening to Death Cab For Cutie, and watching Zombie movies. It is rumored that he has a secret library of zombie movies, and has seen every zombie movie known to man, although this has not been confirmed nor denied by the band. His guitar skills are widely considered the best in Yolo County, and writes most of the music for the band. Stone is also known for his hatred of the [wikipedia]South Park episode about the planet - arium. Tommy is usually the (unfair) butt of all the jokes from the band. Ongoing jokes include questioning his sexuality, making fun of his taste in music, and alleging he was molested by a priest while attending Jesuit.

Jackson Jordan

Jackson is the oldest member of the band, being 18. He is constantly bothered by his bandmates for tobacco products, rides in his Volvo, and job interviews. Jackson played bass in folk/punk group Sterling Riot, before joining the far superior of the 2 bands. He attends Davinci High School, the gay version of Davis High School. Jackson graduated from Davinci on June 12th, 2008. He is mentioned on the [wikipedia]wikipedia page for Davinci under "notable alumni", as a "Bassist Extraordinaire". Jackson will attend community college in Sacramento starting in late August this year(2008).

Alex DeMarini

Alex plays guitar, slide guitar, bass, harmonica, piano, guitar hero, and drums, and is currently employed as vocalist. He has been known to be completely insane, and is also know for his sexual promiscuity and out-of-control substance abuse. He was arrested in April 2007 for smoking marijuana at a skate park by his school during the school lunch hour. He completed his mandatory drug testing and community service on October 30th, and celebrated the next day on halloween by getting high and eating candy, thus showing his unwillingness to change his ways. By 2008, he had simultaneously become a meth/crack/opium addict, and still is to this day. Alex has been kicked out, and re-instated as a member a total of 37 times. He was kicked out of a Mindless Self Indulgence concert on May 27th for crowdsurfing, and unsuccessfully stage diving (he landed on audience members heads, and fell to the ground). He has been asking for a refund from sacramentoThe Empire in Sacramento ever since.

Paul

No information is known about Paul. He says and does extremely awkward things constantly, and hugs people randomly.

Past Members

Religion

The band has many different religious views. While Anthony, Jackson, and Tommy are agnostic, Paul is a member of Bahá'í, and Alex is a confirmed catholic, although he is constantly questioning his faith, making him somewhat agnostic. The band also has ties to Satan after review of the original lyrics of their song "fire and brimstone".

Myspace

The band has a myspace acount (myspace.com/mortalforever) that they have songs, and check it daily. If you would like to contact them, send an email to the myspace, or call the numbers above.

2008-06-25 08:14:27   When it gets a photo, I think it might need to go up as a featured entry. For that matter, so should many of the bands. —JabberWokky
