I read all of the comments above before I went. Luckily, all of the books I needed were there. As with any "used" condition book, I checked the books for highlighting/writing/damage. A lot of them had the aforementioned on the pages but not all of them. **IF YOU PLAN TO TRY TO SELL BACK ANY OF THE BOOKS YOU BUY FROM THIS PLACE TO THE UCD BOOKSTORE**: Be careful of the black tape! All but one of the copies of one of the books I needed had black tape over the covers. Upon peeling the tape back carefully at the top of the block of black tape on the back cover, I discovered that those books were "instructor's edition" books and were not for resale. THE UCD BOOKSTORE WON'T TAKE THESE. Take the effort to find one that doesn't have black tape; you'll actually get money for these ones for resale then. They also put a big barcode sticker from their store over the book's original barcode area. Don't know if this would be a problem when you're trying to sell them back, but I was able to remove them by first peeling off as much as possible, then laying a rubbing-alcohol-dampened/soaked washcloth over the label, letting it sit for a bit, and then rubbing off the sticker with the washcloth.<br> + <br> + Overall, not a bad place to buy from, but read all the comments mentioned before and know what you're getting yourself into before coming to the store. --["Users/kimmisan"]</span> </td> </tr> </table> </div> Off-Campus Bookshttp://daviswiki.org/Off-Campus_Books2011-10-30 14:50:02NicoleLombardComment added. <div id="content" class="wikipage content"> Differences for Off-Campus Books<p><strong></strong></p><table> <tr> <td> <span> Deletions are marked with - . </span> </td> <td> <span> Additions are marked with +. </span> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Line 68: </td> <td> Line 68: </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> <span>+ ------<br> + ''2011-10-30 14:50:02'' [[nbsp]] I bought all of my textbooks here based on price for the ccurrent quarter, and have found that ALL of my books have writing in them. Their service seemed like garbage, I took 5 books [2 textbooks, 2 novels and 1 guide for writing book], I thought I'd be able to buy myself dinner with whatever I got, but was wrong. The guy scans all the books, looks mysteriously at whatever comes up after each beep, then scans the next one. Occasionally he'll examine a select book, probably cause it's worth something. After scanning all of them, he counted them with his fingers and since there were five offered me five dollars. I went back a few days later with a book that's listed used online for 45 dollars [lowest price I found], again he offered me one dollar. Additionally my gf told me to sell books back at that place, as she usually does, I had previously aLways done so at the bookstore. I would not recommend selling books here unless you're a few dollars short on rent or something drastic like that. Business is business, but I don't like doing business that makes me feel scammed.
