I've had dine-in and take out before and love their pizza and was very excited to find out they delivered. The pizza i received however, was not at all what I was expecting. It looked as though it had been sitting around for several hours. The sauce was congealing on the edges of the pizza and the cheese was basically solid. The pizza was still warm but tasted like reheated pizza. They have a decent salad bar, delicious croutons, and the portion was great especially for the price. It was quite economical, AND healthy (if you don't get the bacon and the ranch dressing!). However, their prices recently went up, and their to-go box sizes went down. So now I'd have to pay just under $4 for something less than half the size of what I used to get -- the new small to-go box is just over a cup of salad, I'd guess. Not happening. I can get a larger and better salad from Trader Joe's for less than that, and I'm not even a Trader Joe's fan, but I'll do it. As for Steve's actual pizza, I've never been excited about it (it's all about Village Bakery, or homemade, for me), so that's not gonna draw me back either. Sorry, Steve. Oh, and adding to this disappointing experience today, the area where they keep the croutons and sunflower seeds smelled really bad!! It had the distinct odor of damp, unwashed rag, and yet the "sneeze-screen" was all dusty so I don't know where this dirty rag was used. I just don't think the crust has any flavor and the sauce is so-so. The toppings are quite good, though. --["Users/CovertProfessor"]
 ------
2010-04-29 02:19:24 nbsp Steve's pizza unfortunately is really going downhill as they seem to be aggressively trying to cut costs. First they made the salad bar "one trip only", then today I called in an order while I was walking there and was told "not sure if you can get pepperocinis on stix bc there is no button for it, but I'll check," then when I arrived was told it is not allowed. Fortunately I was also getting salad bar and essentially emptied the canister of pepperocinis onto my plate (partly out of spite, a-hem! see what sucky customer service does?) a. I have been doing ordering my stix like that for months now and b. I only discovered this because once when I called in an order the person offered it to me as an option. In addition to this I was in a huge group of around 20 people eating in the back room. I asked for two small "to go" boxes and got them and when my friend went and asked for one more the guy said he had to ask the manager if it was allowed. Really? I don't blame the staff obviously but the manager is clearly a huge jackass. --["Users/soledad101"]
 ------
2010-06-27 00:26:46 nbsp I think this place is under new management, I haven't seen that creepy old guy recently. It has taken the reign of best testing pepperoni pizza for me, beating out Uncle Vito's, Woodstock and Village (small one). Great tasting ingredients and dough. Kind of funny, but the pizza reminded me of the deliciousness of devouring a frozen pizza at 2am after hitting the bars, in a good way. --["Users/103"]
 ------
2010-08-14 19:17:46 nbsp I had the gluten free pizza once, it was alright but very expensive! (Though, that's the norm for gluten-free food, so don't hold that against them too much.) I tried to go in last week, and they didn't offer it anymore. I will look into this more. --["Users/TerrenceMurphy"]
 ------
2010-10-17 14:33:15 nbsp Ordered a pizza for the first time last night - blech!! My husband and I each ate 1 piece and then promptly threw the rest in the garbage. The pizza was incredibly greasy, like a heart attack waiting to happen! It was disgusting. --["Users/JenniferF"]
 ------
2010-11-11 16:49:44 nbsp My favorite pizza place in town. Not too loud, not overrun with students. Pizza is perhaps the best (standard-type) in Davis, aside from various more-gourmet options like Village. Good for families, and it's not a big chain. --["Users/Flokkenfisch"]
 ------
2010-12-01 19:24:11 nbsp this place is a joke. I called and asked if they had any specials and the "kid" stupidly said "uhhh, no" I asked how much a large pepperoni pizza would be and he said " uhhh, im not sure" ....... well why dont you figure it out as im ordering from woodstocks........a joke --["Users/Mr.eNigma"]
 ------
2011-02-13 10:45:30 nbsp Just found out they changed ownership and won't have any alcohol for 45 days or so. I have always liked their Pizza's more than Woodstock's but I do enjoy the occasional super cheesy greasy pizza from there too. Village Bakery (the orginal, not the new restaurant) is also good but I have always preferred Steve's. The only place I like better is Symposium but it is a bit different. I don't know why people always complain about Steve's being expensive; their prices are pretty comparable to Woodstocks and Vitos for what you get (Village has always been a great deal.) The service is good most of the time. The atmosphere is good because unlike Woodstock's or Vito's, you don't have to shout at the person across the table just to be heard. And you're not sitting shoulder to shoulder with the table next to you. Their Happy Hour and Lunch Specials are some of the best in town. $5 for a small pizza or a huge sandwich is a steal. The Philly is not traditional but it's fantastic (though I admit, a bit greasy). Tuesday is a ridiculously good deal. Pizza taste is largely subjective, as you can tell by reading comments on this and other pizza places in town; but for my money, I like Steve's. --["Users/WillODonnell"]
 ------
2011-06-07 19:39:46 nbsp The chicken wings are amazing, waaaaay better then the breadsticks. --["Users/NikhilDahal"]
 ------
2011-07-24 23:54:49 nbsp Original Steve's is currently closed, but will open Wednesday 7/27.
