The Dance Workshop helps students hone both the art and craft of dance through classes that focus on technique and through performing opportunities. Students of any age and any level of experience can find challenging classes with a supportive and positive atmosphere.

July 2002 — In honor of Susan Mangel on the 30th anniversary of her helping people move. Faculty members include
Pamela Trokanski - Director of the Dance Workshop. She holds degree in Dance and has been teaching, choreographing, and performing for 30 years. She teaches a wide range of classes at the studio, reflecting her interest and belief in the importance of a "multilingual approach" to a dancer's training. She teaches the Modern/Contemporary Classes, as well as Jazz, Earth Rhythms (an African -ethnic based dance form) Dance Flash Mobs, Dance Improvisation and Ballet level Beginning I for children. She also teaches all the Pre-Ballet
Classes. She has a teaching certification for Physical Education K - 12. She is the Dance Teacher at Davis Senior High School, and a Dance Critic for the Davis Enterprise.
Denise Fladager - Former dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, has a strong background in Russian and Balanchine technique. She teaches Ballet, Pointe, and the Ballet Workout class.
Heather Wysong- Currently on Maternity Leave but coming back soon! 23 years of Ballet experience including, but not limited to Sacramento Ballet, Northern California Ballet Company, Lincoln Midest Ballet Company, along with 5 years of teaching experience!
Sasha Hao - Fourth year UCDavis student with a dual major in Political Science and Dramatic Arts with Dance Emphasis. 4 years of teaching experience and over 16 years of studying dance. She teaches Hip-Hop and Beginning and Intermediate Dance Team Prep, along with a Pussycat Doll Workout Class.
Lori Babington - Dance teacher for over 17 years, BA in English/Drama from CSUS, with training in tap, ballet, jazz, and voice.
Juliette Arroyo - Over 25 years of training in world dance styles. She has taught Belly Dance technique, Middle Eastern Dance, and fitness classes for over 14 years and
has performed at numerous restaurants and clubs, for special occasions, in festivals, and in music videos. She has studied dance at the college level taking classes in ballet, jazz, modern dance, and Flamenco.
Quang Tan Lee -Quang is a self-taught dancer. He has been breakdancing for 8 years and has been performing actively for the last 4 years. This year begins his third season as a Kings' Breakdancer, where he performs routines and freestyles at Sacramento Kings' games. He has B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy, and a minor in English. He teachers Breakdance on Tuesdays.
Ashleigh Simonne - 17 years of serious training, teaching, coaching (Dance Team) and performance experience, in the Lake Tahoe area, including being Lead Dancer at the Olympic Torch Ceremony at Lake Tahoe. Her training includes ballet, jazz, tap, Irish, contemporary, lyrical, and dance for musical theater.
Robin Zelko- Bringing over a decade of training in multiple dance forms, including Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Tap. Her teaching experience includes teaching at Santa Barbara Dance Arts and Everybody Dance Now!, a non-profit working with under-served children. Her performance experience includes the San Marcos Varsity Dance Team (including competition at both State and National levels,) Fusion Dance Company, and she is currently on the UC Davis Hip Hop Team. She teaches the Dance Team Prep Class for Pre-Teens.
The Pamela Trokanski Performing Arts Center is home to three performing companies:

The Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre is a post-modern, contemporary dance company. They present fall and spring concerts each year in Davis, in addition to multiple community outreach programs.

The Third Stage Dance Company is an associate company of the Dance Theatre.

The Apprentice Company a post-modern, contemporary dance company. It is compromised of younger dancers working for the future.

2012-04-17 19:53:53 I have danced at Pamela Trokanski's Dance Workshop for 10 years. I have studied Jazz, Modern/Contemporary, Improvisation and Earth Rhythms. My daughters danced here from ages 4-14 and remember classes here as fun, challenging, wonderful for creative expression and learning dance technique. This is a great place!
