The times that I have gone, there is always a huge line just waiting to get your plate with rice or whatever, with nothing much going on in the center area or at the cash register. If anyone related to management is reading this: we've known about the assembly line method since the early 1900s. It works. I recommend it. The first person should be doing rice/chow mein, then pass to the next person, then pass to the next person, then to cashier. If one person tries to do many different things, the line doesn't flow. Second bit of free advice: teach your people to talk to one another. The cooks finish a plate of food, but don't tell the people who are dishing the food. Or, someone dishes up a plate of food, but doesn't tell anyone that it is ready. No one expects amazing food here (at least I don't), but I do expect *fast* food, since it's already made!
+
+ To the person with the dog above: they have outdoor tables. That's where our dogs hang out while we sit next to them and eat our food... as someone else pointed out, you can't bring dogs into restaurants. On Saturday, my husband and I took our 16 month old there for lunch. There were only a few people in the place; as we were sitting down, a scratched and disheveled homeless man approached us. He would not leave and started to make a move towards my son. We blocked the homeless man, but he kept trying to get around us and go for my boy. My husband screamed repeatedly at the man to leave, I grabbed my son, and began calling 911. All this time, the staff actually cowered in the back. Not once did they come out or try to help. A 20-something guy sitting nearby came over to guide the homeless man out the door, but the bum attacked the guy! He began hitting him, and still the staff hid. I relayed this to 911. Once the bum realized he was outmatched by the guy, he left quickly - before the cop came of course. Too many people end up at the register with no way to carry their meal.
- *Hopefully the friendly cashier will be ready to help rectify the situation when Grandma forgets a tray?
- *Yes, we will go and get a tray for you. I was just saying that it is much faster/easier if you do it yourself. Considering there are trays right there when you start ordering. We have to go around the steam table to get them, and this takes time. Many customers complain about waiting so long. Going to get people trays (and other things on this list) only lengthens that wait.
-
- 2) Speak up when ordering. It is often incredibly loud and it doesn't help that you're incredibly quiet.[[BR]]
- *Dude, same for you. Most of the time I can't make out when the person behind the counter mumbles something about an additional item. And nothing can stop you from asking, "[Sir|Ma'am], can you please speak up?"
- *It is very loud with the cooking and fans going on and often we can't hear each other because of it. However, I was talking about people who you can't hear when nothing is going on.
-
-
- 3) Stop pointing to dishes. The way the steam table is set up we can't see what you're pointing at.[[BR]]
- *You can't like, take half a step back and gaze downward? Maybe if you didn't mumble about the additional item, we'd feel comfortable speaking to you....
- *It's just a little impolite, don't you think? I mean you don't go into a restaurant and do that with a menu.
-
- 4) Try to finish your order before getting to the register.[[BR]]
- *WTF? I'll finish my order when I'm damn ready. Then I'll give the people at the register the money that comprises your paycheck, you ungrateful little shit.
- *Again, it only slows everyone else down. I understand a lot of times people just realize they want something, and if that's the case it's completely fine. And although we are all there to help each other out, it speeds the process if we all stay at our own station(s), that's all.
-
- 5) Do not start orders from the register.
