Pioneer Park is a very nicely shaded park next to the Pioneer School. It's a great place to take your well-behaved dogs to let them run around off-leash — lots of space, lots of shade — though keep in mind that there is no fence, so it's not a good option for dogs that might run away.

There is a (different) Pioneer Park in Nevada City. Surely there are many parks that have the same name; for example, in Lincoln, NE.
