The deals involving the garlic bread are definitely worth it. The area of the garlic bread is 1/2 that of the large pie, and with an FSI of 56.7, it has 58% as much cheese as a large pie.

If you have a Super Saver Card, you can get an X-Large 3-topping pizza for $12.99 and a second X-Large 3-topping pizza of equal or lesser value for $9.99. They also offer an AAA Discount.

While their crust is not the best, their toppings are good and varied. You can get tomato sauce, but pesto and white garlic sauces are also available. If you go wild on thick toppings, you can wind up with a soggy pizza through sheer volume of ingredients on top.JabberWokky

2005-04-18 20:11:33   Their calzones are amazing. Huge and very filling and inexpensive. $5 (1 Calzone) is more than enough, $10 (2 calzones - and a free 2 Liter) is enough for 2 and lunch the next day. —DanielMedinaCleghorn

2005-05-23 16:31:56   is that first deal only when you pick it up, or does it always include the soda? i think all orders over $8 include a 2L soda if you pick it up yourself. —ArlenAbraham

2005-05-23 17:21:04   The deal includes the soda, so if you do carry-out you can grab two 2-liters —JevanGray

2005-06-02 18:19:29   The pizza is delicious. Sometimes, the chicken topping is not cooked well so beware. Other than that, pizza guys is the place to go if you're craving pizza for little $$$. Also, the free 2-liter soda deal is cool. —BenLee

2005-06-04 00:28:24   I prefer Cenario's. About the same price, better tasting. —NickCarrigan

2005-07-22 15:24:38   I had their pizza two days ago for lunch. I'll have to disagree with those that liked their pizza, but I found it prosaic at best. The crust was bland and spongy (akin to Domino's) and the toppings lacked seasoning, although they piled plenty on. I tried a veggie option as well as their ham and pineapple. (Had to pick off the pineapple. I HATE pineaple on pizze for some reason) Anyway, my verdict: OK at best, but if you're strapped for cash and are hungry, this place will suffice. Thus far, it is the least tasty pizza I've had in Davis, though. —MarcRehfuss

2005-08-28 18:04:07   I love the pizza from this place. The crust is yummy, and they give you a pretty fair amount of toppings. Try the garlic bread, it's pretty tasty. —AnnaJones

2005-08-28 19:37:37   Guys... I authored this entry originally. If you disagree or have something to add (the crust is yummy, the crust is bland), add it directly to the entry up above! —JabberWokky

2005-10-30 22:08:35   I think that pizza guys is some of the best pizza in Davis, especially when you get two larges and a 2-liter soda for 25 bucks or so. —JohnDudek

2005-11-06 21:40:41   I never had a chance to sample their pizzas, their phone service was so awful, they got both my phone number and address wrong. The pizza was never delivered. —KevinWeedon

2005-11-07 14:59:40   As far as the phone service goes, I totally agree with the previous comment. We ordered a pizza from them Weds. night and the woman who answered the phone was not friendly. After I picked up the pizza (they charge for delivery) they called 20 minutes later asking for our address so they could deliver. The pizza is awesome though and my husband and I are in love with the Chicken Bacon Supreme. —MyaBrn

2006-10-10 10:11:43   I have never had the Pizza guys in Davis, but I have had the one in Woodland multiple times. It is pretty bland pizza — the crust tends to be spongy, and the overall flavor just isn't there. It is definitely edible, but it is far from great. In this case, you get what you pay for. —AlexPomeranz

2006-10-10 10:33:12   Try white garlic sauce + artichoke + chicken. Reaaal tasty. —TheodoreSuryapurnama

2007-01-21 16:33:48   The people who answer the phones sound pretty shady. —CarlosOverstreet

2007-01-31 23:58:12   You get what you pay for. That said it's decent pizza for a tight budget. Garlic/Cheese bread is actually really good. —TusharRawat

2007-03-04 13:42:40   I agree with CarlosOverstreet — the people who answer the phone sound pretty shady. Plus, it took way over an hour for my pizza delivery AND my pizza was a total disappointment. I ordered a Firework or whatever the crap it's called and there were about 5 Italian sausage chunks on the whole thing. Sucked. —CourageCowardlyDog

2007-06-01 12:40:31   Calzones give you great bang for your buck, but are greasy as heck. btw all the cool people call this place PIZZA KIDS (because the young age of most of the workers), you should too. —KyleLanderhoffis

2007-06-01 12:55:34   Pizza Guys is awesome. On a busy party night you can't be too disappointed that your pizza gets there late, but I've never had a pizza I didn't like. Also nice is the bonus two-liter you get when you pick up your order. A lot of the guys speak Russian. Oh, and Entertainment Book has a two-for-one coupon, which lets you get two of pizza (any size any number of toppings) for the price of one. Also Super Saver Card is a good deal. —JaimeRaba

2007-10-28 23:12:33   I recommend their white garlic sauce; their garlic cheesy bread is wonderful! They are definitely a good deal when it comes to pizza, but brace yourself against their thin substanceless ranch. I recommend chopping up some fresh garlic and adding it into their dipping sauce to make it better. Go in for the soda too! —AnnaF

2007-11-12 19:54:52   I have been ordering from them since I moved to Davis in 2005 because they used to have amazing pizza. Crunchy crust, fresh tasting and hot upon delivery. As of late they have completely declined in service and product. Their phone mannerisms are seriously lacking. No sense of professionalism or politeness. Very bland personalities. No please or thank yous, no may I or shall I. And I should expect them to care about the pizza I'm ordering???! Yeah....The pizza arrives cold and parts of the order are missing. Order a salad, forgot the dressing. Order a pizza, forgot the soda, OR bring the wrong kind. Yes they have deals but they only have deals because their pizza and service SUCKS! If the product is quality, people will pay for it at regular price. Trust me, would think twice about ordering from them if their prices were comparable to Round Table's. Giving away free sodas may save you a couple of dollars, but I prefer quality over quantity any day. They rate at 2 out 5. I've ordered at least 10 if not more times from them and it never improves. What a waste of time and space. —NasMo

2007-11-25 14:26:04   Good cheap pizza. I've never had it delivered, so I can't talk about that, I do take-out. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be around, they close early sometimes because there's no business. —WilliamBeamish

2008-01-07 21:19:29   I don't like their tomato sauce. Crust is okay, but the sauce is just gross. Go elsewhere. I know I will. —CurlyGirl26

2008-01-07 22:42:45   Definitely among the best pizza in Davis. —IDoNotExist

2008-01-16 17:59:04   Definitely the best deals in town on pizza. Their salami and feta toppings on a pizza are grrrreat. I used to work at Steve's, which has better cheese bread but their pizza is expensive. —William.Peacock

2008-04-10 11:39:15   I'm so sad. Pizza Guys has always been really good pizza, but I am getting tired of the bad and flat out rude service. I ordered 3 extra large pizzas a few days ago and let them know over the phone that I had one coupon for a free pizza. I was told the price would be $36. Before I could ask when to pick them up I was hung up on. 30 minutes later I went to pick up the pizzas and when one of the guys came to help me- he didn't know why I was there. I told him I was here to pick up my 3 extra large pizzas and gave him the coupon. His words at seeing my coupon: " Oh, one of these. Yor total will be $42". He then proceeded to answer his ringing cell phone and talked while my friend and I waited. He wouldn't answer why the price changed and then said we could take only 1 bottle of soda even though we had 3 pizzas and our order was over $12. i don't know whats up with that sign on the soda fridge door that is different everytime I come in, but its more trouble than its worth to go to Pizza Guys. —MyaBrn

2008-04-10 12:02:08   I really like their pizza. Better than Woodstocks or Steve's. I've never had them deliver because it is less expensive for me to pick it up myself (and probably faster). They've always had the pizza ready by the time I could get there. —IDoNotExist

2008-05-28 22:39:39   The best description would be... best pizza for your buck. It's not the best pizza I've ever had, but it's pretty good for what you pay for it. And the cheesey garlic bread is delicious. It's like going to Panda Express- you know what you're getting yourself into... You know it's not authentic, but it's satisfying none-the-less. I prefer Steve's when I eat in, but for carry out, Pizza Kids (I liked that comment!) and Papa Johns are my favorite in town. —IzzaSwiech

2008-07-03 15:51:47   This is the best pizza in Davis no matter how strapped for cash you are. There are always deals, and you get a free soda for going in and picking up your pizza. —onlyleo

2008-11-11 22:40:40   Best Pizza in davis. Bread Stick is fantastic. —AvilaVoom

2008-11-25 15:02:28   Their calzones are good and definitely worth the price (basically two meals for $5). Be warned if you order a combo or anything with sausage- the sausage is very bland...like it came from a frozen bag. I think the pizza tastes good, however I have had it at least 3 times and I was left with a slight stomach ache every time. I was not sick, but something was a little off. All in all, though, it's tasty and convenient if you live downtown! —Kiran

2008-11-26 08:44:28   I used to love ordering pizza here for the free soda ("used to" because I try not to drink soda anymore), but one time — just once — I called and asked just to make sure, "Do we get a free 2Liter when we pick the pizza up?". The guy said "What?" and I said "Don't you guys have a deal where you give a free 2Liter of soda when the pizza is picked up?". The guy said "No. We've never done that.", sounding annoyed and impatient. :-/ He must not have gotten the "free soda" training. —gurglemeow

2008-12-14 20:06:01   I love this place. My roommates and I gained so much weight ordering from here. Thank you. Chicken w/ pesto or garlic sauce. Yum. —BenLee

2009-03-18 13:18:09   Good food, but stingy on the toppings. —strawberry

2009-05-24 17:19:37   Best Pizza in Davis!! —aaron.smith

2009-05-27 22:21:25   So, I used to think that Steve's had the best cheezy garlic breadsticks, but then I tried Pizza Guy's. THEY ARE FREAKING AMAZING. I love the cheese and garlic sauce, and they always serve it with ranch (but will give you marinara if you ask). I did have a problem with delivery once, because they couldn't find my apartment, then called me and said they were here, only to call back and say they weren't. I ended up having to walk away from my actual apartment to the front of the complex, only to find out they came to my door anyways after I asked them to stay at the sign. However, they did make it up to me by giving me extra breadsticks (although, I found it peculiar that they already pre-made them like they KNEW they were gonna screw up).

Also, they have great deals a lot of the time. But if you go for pick-up, make sure you bring mace, cuz that neighborhood is shaaaady. —BrookeB

2009-07-24 11:37:11   Update on my last posting (because I eat Pizza Guys way too much)- they really are stingy on the toppings, and they seem to take a long time to make pizzas. I've called and it sounded really dead in the store, and they've told me it's going to take 30 minutes or so, and then when we go pick up the pizza (and the store is dead) it's not even ready yet. They did a big oops on one of our orders, but they gave us a whole new pizza on top of the messed up one for free (but that could just be because some of the employees are Russian and I was hanging with a Russian fellow).

All in all, it's cheap and pretty tasty so I'll eat it, but Lamppost and even Papa John's are better. —Kiran
