A bit about me...
Hi, my name is poox and I'm super cool. Everyone says I'm way mellow and awesome, and they're mostly right. I do lay around a lot but I'm pretty good at catching mice and totally go after birds and squirrels when nobody's looking. I also go on walks with Jeffrey and will go for blocks without getting scared. I go to the Co-op all the time and sometimes downtown. If you see me, say hi!
The Legend of Pookie
Apparently, when I was a kitten I used to be pure white. But one day, I was walking through the forest and a bobcat jumped out and bit off my tail!
I went to see the queen of the forest to get a replacement, but all she had was a black and orange tail. Since I'm so mellow, I accepted this funny colored tail without complaint, and for being so good, the queen of the forest gave me a matching hat and magic spot.
Then I took a nap.

I am a strong proponent of rescuing cats from the pound. I spent 6 months at the SPCA (I was full grown and nobody wanted me) and it sucked. Another few weeks and I would have been PUT TO SLEEP! I was very lucky to get adopted. Everyone should adopt. Stop having babies and adopt! I'd also recommend spaying and neutering your pets. It doesn't hurt that much and its way better than sending a bunch of kittens to sadnessland. Poox's field guide to contolling the mouse population
-
Find an unsuspecting mouse.
-
Sneak up on mouse.
-
Get into pounce-ready position.
-
Tuck whiskers low to ground.
-
Stick tail in the air.
-
Wiggle hind quarters.
-
Focus all your energy into rear paws.
-
POUNCE!
-
While in mid-flight, extend claws. They should make a metallic "ka-ching" noise.
-
Sound from claws should scare mouse. Mouse should jump around just in time to see how he is about to die.
-
After mouse sees you, reveal fangs. Fangs should make a metallic "ka-ching" noise too.
-
Mouse should experience breif moment of indescribable terror before dying of fright.
-
Land so that whole mouse winds up in your mouth except for the tail, which should hang out so everyone can see how cute you are.
-
Give mouse to someone you love as a present.
proper sneaking technique
extending claws
revealing fangs
presents are fun for giving

I have pictures of a few kills I've made. I think they are cool. They are graphic though. Fair warning...

2007-10-11 00:58:27 Poox.. so feral, so true to cat nature. Good of you to share your kills with human friends. Indeed, "super cool". —DavidPoole

Unless you like having songbirds in the area. House cats are one of the main causes of bird declines in North America. I find the celebration that this cat is killing birds rather disturbing. And, no house cats aren't a natural part of the ecosystem. —JimEvans

Good point, I was more celebrating the being being with its self, not so much the effect on the ecosystem or the artificial population maintained by our intervention and all that. Really we need more bird feeder (out of claw's reach) to counteract this, or some other human solution, because we are perfect. Also, wouldn't these lack of song bird effects only be present mainly in urban areas? given the higher feline and human population density? ~Dave
