Every year in Mid-June, students move out of the dorms and leave behind perfectly good and usable stuff such as:

Clothing

Furniture
-
Food
-
Carpets
-
Books
To make sure these items don't end up in the landfill, the student staff at R4 Recycling sets up collection sites for students to leave unwanted items behind. Food is donated to the Food bank of Yolo County while the rest of the stuff is stored and redistributed to the campus community at the Resource Recovery Exchange, also managed by R4 Recycling.
