The SMART (Students Matter: Activism, Retention, Teamwork) first ran candidates during the Winter 2012 ASUCD Election. The SMART slate seeks to give a voice in ASUCD to all underrepresented communities at UC Davis. We are coalition students of diverse cultural backgrounds committed to serving the needs of the communities we represent. We seek to raise political and cultural awareness to the issues our communities face while empowering students to act as dynamic leaders on the UC Davis Campus. We seek to create an inclusive environment on campus that provides a quality, culturally sensitive, comprehensive education for students of all backgrounds.
