This page is for discussing the contents of Seafood.
Love the idea for this page! The only thing I'm leery about is having it broken down by species. Seems like it could be a pretty huge project, and could easily get out of date very quickly with menus changing and whatnot. What would people think of listing the restaurants, and for each one mention some of what they have available? —TomGarberson

Well, we could just highlight some of the harder-to-find species. For example, you might be right that it could be too much of a project to document every place that sells, say, shrimp. Lists of the uncommon species would probabaly be easily doable though. For a seafood lover for me, a list like this would be invaluable. For example, i really enjoy monk fish dishes, and to this day, I don't know if there is a single grocery loc store or restaurant that sells monk fish. I'd like such info to be available, and yet it seems a bit silly to create an individual entry for monk fish. Btw, aside from certain chains, I believe the menus have actually been pretty consistent over the years. For example, I don't recall Fuji Chef's or Ohana's menus changing much, if at all, over the years. If you want to, you could add restaurant-specific info as well. That's a good idea. -SM

If you don't do it as a list, you can just treat Seafood as an entry about seafood and just mention where to get Monkfish (if you find it). It's also worth noting in the entry pretty much everything you just said: menus, shrimp common, etc. All that is information about seafood in Davis. -jw

Well, I'll start it off as a list for the sake of easiness, if you guys don't mind. We can easily convert it to be less listy later on if it seems feasible. I think it will a medium-size list in the end. I've already listed a decent chunk of the more "exotic" seafood in Davis. I'll also try to work in all that you mentioned at some point. -SM
