The Davis Enforcer is an alternative publication to that of the California Aggie but is not yet affiliated with AS Papers. The paper is currently under the command of the Christian Slate and is printed at the Davis Enterprise. It is a non-partisan four page newspaper detailing mainly ASUCD news and information. Unlike the Aggie the Davis Enforcer targets particular groups on the campus to distribute. In the future it may also cover national, state, and local issues in more depth. The Davis Enforcer currently does not contain any advertisements. It is currently not in color.
The Davis Enfrocer's first issue came out on November 15th 2006, the same day as the ASUCD election. It has been assumed by some that the Davis Enforcer hopes to either cause great chaos to the ASUCD elections or push a certain agenda. Some would consider it to be biased, a charge the Davis Enforcer denies. It is unknown exactly what the Davis Enforcer intends to enforce, but it should be noted that newspapers across the country have used the named "Enforcer."
Their organizational network is currently unknown as well as how their articles come to be. Their funding is also somewhat of a mystery. Christian Slate leader Steve Ostrowski has publicaly recruited people from Davis College Republicans and Davis College Democrats to write or report on articles. Steve has a tendency to call the paper conservative or centrist. A facebook group has also been made for recruiting purposes but is currently hidden. What is clear however, is that none of the Davis Enforcer members have any experience in journalism or english which may hinder the affectiveness of the first issue. The Davis Enforcer was also written in less than a week's time and printed the day of the election.
The Davis Enforcer has no connections to LEAD or Student Focus. The Davis Enforcer also does not endorse candidates. The Davis Enforcer will be followed by a second publication called the Christian Voice which is under the command of Students For Life at UCD. It is expected that both publications will print issues on a monthly basis.
