Laptop dock is 100% LEGO and 500% awesome.
EBT is a progressive conservative, a pessimistic optimist, and a cynical dreamer. As of present, he is a third-year undergraduate who plans on staying in Davis to obtain a credential so he can enlighten (read: torment) students with mathematics in high school classrooms while eating grapefruit.
Though he harbors a Luddish disdain towards driving, his car-free lifestyle is not entirely by choice. You can find him on campus cruising around on his impostor mountain bike. Unlike most cyclists, he stops at stop signs, yields to pedestrians at crosswalks, and utilizes hand signals. If you ever spot him jogging around West Davis, it’s probably because he opted for public transportation that day and consequently missed out on his daily workout-commute. Speaking of which, he has a personal policy of not using his portable music player whilst aboard the bus in order to encourage conversation from strangers. To date, this has not worked out well, as everybody else is listening to music or talking on the phone. Losers.
He would like to offer you a heartfelt apology if the Davis Wiki has slashed your productivity to ribbons. (Just imagine what it did to his.)
Feel free to peek at the scribbles on his scratch paper or borrow some gadgets from his magical toolbox.

2010-05-04 21:04:44 I kind of liked the subtle point made by calling them "Reviews from before they were opened". :) —JabberWokky
2010-05-04 21:17:14 No worries. I almost made the same edit myself. We all tug the content in different directions. It's your wiki too. —JabberWokky
2010-05-11 17:00:49 The broken stats are part of the reason for the upcoming rewrite. The stats on Userinfo are much ore accurate (and cover all wikis). —JabberWokky
2010-05-14 16:41:02 Thanks for the nice user page and all the nice edits you've made. Happy Friday to you, too! (I hear you on the productivity issue, though). —CovertProfessor
2010-05-15 10:59:18 Hi... not sure if you saw
this reply. —CovertProfessor
2010-05-15 13:36:15 That's fine — it didn't need a response, I just wanted to make sure you saw it. As for the sentence I deleted, there was something about the way it was worded — I really just couldn't understand what it was trying to say! —CovertProfessor
2010-05-15 19:23:37 Yup. Looks like someone just wanted to make that statement without using their real name. As long as it is useful and not malicious, it's all good to me. —WilliamLewis
2010-05-18 15:53:28 Should the link work with the underscores in it? I took the underscores out and it works fine. —CovertProfessor
2010-05-18 15:59:39 Hey, you're updating the page — I am not complaining!! —CovertProfessor

2010-05-21 18:12:29 Nah, fullwidth number sign (# unicode 0xFF03). —WilliamLewis
2010-05-21 18:17:51 Well, it's not really redundant. Most of the time, you don't care if you're using the fullwidth or halfwidth glyph. The two glyphs are there for when you need a specific version. —WilliamLewis
2010-05-22 09:37:59 Yeah, it's pretty atrocious. Once a conversation gets more than a few comments long across multiple pages, I just give up on trying to follow it. It's not worth the time and effort sorting it out. —TomGarberson
2010-05-23 19:51:11 Great gnoming today, EBT. Thanks for all the great edits! —TomGarberson
2010-05-24 17:07:27 I'm somewhat into pens (in other words, crazy obsessed for the values of most people, and barely a collector by serious collector standards), and one of my favorite pen sites is also somewhat oddly named:

2010-05-25 15:17:22 I just wanted to apologize for my incidental role in the style guide page. What I thought (and should have said) was that I agreed with the content of what wl said, but not the way he delivered it. I agree that his tone towards you was unnecessarily unpleasant. So, I am sorry that you've had a rough time, especially given that you were only trying to improve things for the better. I hope this incident does not turn you away from editing the wiki. You've made a lot of really helpful edits in a short amount of time. —CovertProfessor
2010-05-25 15:20:34 I'm upset about the URL thing for purely technical reasons. Nothing against you or anything. —WilliamLewis
2010-05-27 12:04:19 Hey, I prefer that Adobe header section without the line breaks because you get more information upfront without having to scroll down. it seems like a richer experience when you have less blank space...as you do with the line breaks in the headers. thoughts?
Also, the language that i've changed/created has been taken from past user comments. My style is to create a massive amount of links, so maybe that feels ad-ish? How would you suggest not making it feel "ad-ish"?

2010-05-27 18:08:47 Hey, regarding the mobility section... I spent a lot of time putting that together and even convinced a bunch of folks to change the template. Can we bring the format back? I really want to emphasize the holistic nature of transportation planning that de-emphasizes the automobile... —KemblePope

2010-05-30 11:13:46 Some redirects have inbound links from off-wiki. You probably want to take that into account when deleting redirects, especially ones that have been around awhile or are likely to have links (political subjects, both Davis and UC Davis, usually have plenty). —JabberWokky
2010-05-30 12:46:19 Yeah, I agree. It's just something that isn't obvious, so I figured I'd mention it. —JabberWokky
2010-05-31 09:18:27 I poached from your magical toolbox today... there's some handy stuff in there! —TomGarberson

I need to stick my snippets up online too. Jason has some as well. And Daubert already has some nice ones he picked out from around the wiki. -jw

2010-06-25 22:50:25 Hello, you sent me a comment way back in March, heh. I'm afraid I'm a fickle Davis Wiki community member, but it's great to hear from other Ag & Env people! Hydrology's hard-core. Had any classes with Mark Grismer? —Myself
