Active on the Wiki, this mysterious person has never created a personal page.
Don't be misled by the name — he is not too grumpy.
GrumpyoldGeek posts anonymously because he's sometimes critical of Davis police and city government. He can tell you this;
-
He's a geek.
-
He's been a geek for 35+ years.
-
He gets grumpy when the servers goes down or when email doesn't work or when the database gets corrupted.
That would make him a (sometimes)GrumpyoldGeek.
Comments welcome.—GrumpyoldGeek

2006-04-30 13:05:13 So what did you do with the little guy from your door? —AllisonEriksen
2006-04-30 18:09:55 I let him go in the backyard, none the worse for the photo op. My wife thought we might put him in with the leopard gecko, but I was concerned he might have germs. If I see him again, would you like him for a companion to Cap. Tuttle? —GrumpyoldGeek
2006-04-30 18:37:02 I've had multiple lizards before and they fought, so we're probably better off with Tuttle playing the lone wolf for now, but thanks! —AllisonEriksen
2006-05-18 12:08:09 The difference between trashing businesses and people is that businesses serve the public. It's in the public interest to know about shoddy service. Trashing a person? That's personal crap that the public doesn't need to know. Even if I were to hypothetically consider dating this person who FooBar seems to hate so much, information on her would be relevant to me alone and not the community. —WilliamLewis

2006-12-19 03:46:16 Heh. Re: Fistulated cows. I thought of that when I watched it, which is why I wrote it as a "they note". The narriator says it, and I have no idea exactly what it means, so I presented it as it was stated. The entry would benefit from somebody who works with the cows putting in exactly what they are and do. —JabberWokky

I can then apply for monies. The paper itself is, luckily, fairly self supporting, how ever for a donor to get a write off, or to qualify for government monies, I must put the Tax Id numbers. It's a requirement. E mail me directly if you `care to help.. Lawson —TheSpareChanger
2007-09-18 03:21:09 Question about this comment you made earlier in the comcast thread:
"2007-08-26 23:45:54 Has anyone else had problems spidering websites through Comcast Broadband? I get a burst of download activity followed by 6-7 seconds of stall, followed by another burst of activity. Same program and OS at work, through an Omsoft SDSL connextion runs continuously at the link bandwidth. Looks like some fishy bandwidth limiting going on. —GrumpyoldGeek "
Are you still having this problem? I'm looking to switch to comcast cable internet, currently using AT&T DSL (1200kbps/320kbps) and want to get the extra speed. I occasionally spider some websites and was wondering if this problem is recent or a normal problem you've had. I'm really tired of the slow speeds, but not being able to spider websites would be a be a downer -_-
2007-12-12 02:34:54 I see where you're coming from, but your reasoning failed in the execution of your explanation. As I said before, you lost me when you started speculating that Asian Americans watch less TV than other ethnic demographics. Sorry if I came on you like a rabid wolf. —EmilyTung
