2008-12-16 13:30:00   Thanks for the edit over at chicoChico Wiki. We appreciate all the help we can get! I never knew that about the brewery's beef, but it's not surprising. I learn something new everyday. —StaceyEllis

2009-01-09 15:52:39   Your edit on the SCCC page made me chuckle. When I put in a more noticeable "discussion goes here link", I had considered removing the comment bar. Then decided not to since I figured people who wanted to say something probably wouldn't, and I imagined some wiki user would simply move over the comment (as you did). —EdWins

2009-04-08 09:04:18   thanks for your comments on the growing your own hops, I think you make a good point. - mike —matiasek

2009-04-22 14:51:44   RE: [WWW]this: We had a [WWW]eventful day today. I had noticed your comment before, but didn't really want to talk merits of research on the page. Or get involved on the BS of a "SLAPP", which you pointed out it wasn't. I limited myself to one woohoo. Heck, there's been cars exploded, bombs found before they exploded, homes burned or flooded, etc, just in the last three years here. Anyway, if you ever are more than idly curious, I'd be happy to talk about research. I've been mostly indirectly involved with it at both schools. —EdWins

2009-04-29 14:47:25   I saw that, but [WWW]wondered if [WWW]he was trying to just call attention to (potentially) himself. —EdWins

2009-04-29 16:05:58   As silly as some of the media coverage is, I'm personally trying to keep in mind that it is an actual outbreak and that there are people dying from it. Mocking the media and the internet paranoia is one thing, but you might want to avoid actually mocking the disease itself. YMMV, only my two cents. —JabberWokky

2009-04-29 17:12:46   Sure thing! I had just remembered seeing 38000 from another source. I figured the CDC had a real number somewhere. Cheers. —RyanMikulovsky

2009-05-15 20:00:52   Hey, did you verify that the Pita Pit is closed(ish) by talking to anyone? I tried calling and didn't get anyone, but that doesn't mean it's not a temporary thing (or summer thing). —JabberWokky

2009-05-16 10:15:02   Yeah, I try to check phone numbers and other easily checked edits. A surprising number of phone number edits are wrong or well intentioned but incorrect (to the manager's office, for example, as opposed to the front restaurant where most people will be wanting to call). —JabberWokky

2009-05-16 11:54:09   You may have noticed, but one of the comments you removed from The Willows Apartments was negative, and not likely from the management. —MasonMurray

2009-05-16 11:54:15   [WWW]This comes from management? —WilliamLewis

2009-05-16 11:56:55   That was kind of my point. Your edit comment said that you removed edits from the same IP as management, so.... —MasonMurray

2009-05-16 12:50:21   I know, I figured that if I was going to remove one, I better remove them all. —JoePomidor

2009-05-16 13:16:08   They apparently have wireless internet available to their residents. It's not too much of a stretch to think that perhaps the comment was legitimate and the network is NATed, especially because it was different in tone and message from the other comments with the same IP address. —WilliamLewis

2009-05-16 17:45:42   I see. I'm not a computer major, I don't know much about networking. I figured I would go with the precedent for that page, rather than try to untangle who did what and why. Feel free to revert it if you so desire. —JoePomidor

2009-05-21 03:48:18   It appears that Yelp may use money and power as a solution to many community problems on their site instead of collaboration. Additionally, if you read the wikipedia article on them, an editor of the discussion page admits to working for Yelp, so I am skeptical of the whole rest of the page. On the other hand I may just be believing what I want to based on prejudice, so your interpretation may vary. —NickSchmalenberger

2009-05-21 06:10:15   There's an allegation that Yelp comments seem to focus (in the order of presentation) on the negative, the businesses are pressured to buy ads, then the comments are resorted positive. I'm not sure exactly what it is, or if it has any basis in fact at all, but that's the rumor. —JabberWokky

2009-05-29 08:57:16   :) Just remember — only use the apostrophe when you mean "it is" (or "you are" or "they are")... it's a contraction! —CovertProfessor

2009-06-06 11:10:02   So, what is NPOV and why do think that the commentary—clearly somone's opinion rather than anything that could be called factual—"For some reason, most all of the waiters/waitresses working here seem to be mutant-super attractive in a Hollywood-science-fiction-movie sort of way. There have also been stuck-up assholes working there. Watch out for those bastards, they'll give you horrible looks for asking for water. But luckily not everyone is like that," should be left in the body of the text rather than relegated to comments? "Mutant-super attractive?" "Stuck-up assholes?" "Bastards?" This belongs in the description of any business? David Robinson —DavidRobinson

2009-06-06 11:21:20   Joe, I have just taken the time to look up the acronym NPOV and now I really think that your reversion was inappropriate. If you think that "assholes" and "bastards" in the body of an entry is neutral or that maintaining a phrase like the one I just shifted to the comments is neutral, than you and I have very different ideas of neutrality. I'd rather that this be appealed to the powers that be, though, than volley about it. —DavidRobinson

2009-06-10 15:32:10   hehe, like the new article link. I think it's pretty interesting when people are such avid supporters of some of that stuff. I think so much of it is garbage, but overall I can sympathize a little: it is difficult where the lines been drawn. Or how much benefit there is. There are indeed lots of herbal or traditional remedies that eventually became acknowledged for their legitimate medicinal uses. And there are 1000x times as many that aren't. I've spent the last few months working for a guy who really has been having some of his people test out a whole lot of "traditional Chinese herbal medicines" in a variety of ways to look for specific things he can make money from. So far, the anti-microbial lollipops are really taking off. Sugar-free with licorice root extract, messes with one of your oral bacteria. My own dentist started giving them out a while ago, and was amused when I said new flavors are coming out soon <.< —EdWins

2009-06-11 15:49:41   After your suggestion I was inspired: Same IP Address. There was something about 2+2 may equal 4 that just seemed to fit. —JasonAller

2009-06-18 05:48:19   I think the paranormal part of the chimpanzees was that supposedly the escapee was found dead in a drain at the facility, so if it was seen somewhere else that would be paranormal. Also, the wiki says it was a monkey instead, but i'm too lazy to look this up on Newsbank right now. I don't remember hearing about sightings and I lived in West Davis at the time, but maybe its something animal rights people tell each other or something. or it was only ever meant jokingly. Anyway, I think it makes some sense on the page, although it could be explained more. —NickSchmalenberger

2009-06-18 20:58:20   Silly trolls EliYani

2009-07-29 14:26:56   I will always revert changes made by you that affect things I have made because you clearly dont like me and you are not neutral. —RealComputers

2009-08-06 13:44:22   I just had a discussion with jabberwokky about the appropriateness of these type of comments on a business page. He agrees that it is not appropriate. Just because someone makes a comment, does not mean it should stick. Only comments that have at least something to do with a business belong on a business page. —RealComputers

2009-08-06 13:47:27   Yeeeeahh... —JabberWokky

2009-08-06 13:50:24   I have also asked jim stweart if he has a better suggestion for how the edit that he was refering to should be stated. He has yet to reply, but Im doing my best to get along here so please just help me out with that. —RealComputers

2009-08-06 13:59:37   I dont charge by the hour and it is therefore in no way relevent. I spend far more time fixing computer than I do editing wikis. I only even check on my wiki to make sure its still intact and see if anyone had a comment/question. —RealComputers

2009-08-10 18:41:38   thanks for updating it for me! i was writing it in because everyone i talked to (including a person from Davis Enterprise and some local business owners) didn't even know that it was happening, so i figured nobody really knew and it was still kept in the dark. I was hearing from the side of the ppl in Third and B and they made it seem like everything was still hush hush...but i guess it wasn't (i soon found that out wen i opened my mouth to kdvs and got lots of negative responses about how everyone knew about it and nobody cares). o well... whatever! —SaThai
