Hello, everyone, and welcome to the School of Karina. Please take your seats; class is about to start.

Geography of Karina Summers:

Name: Karina Lynne Summers

Colors: Silver, green, and purple

Motto: After I'm dead, I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one. (Cato the Elder)

Anthem: White and Nerdy, by Weird Al

Official language: English (in some areas, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Gaelic, and Swahili are also used de facto)

History of Karina Summers:

Miss Summers was born in Santa Cruz, California. Then she moved to Livermore. Stuff happened. Then she moved to Davis. More stuff happened. The end.

Mathematics of Karina Summers:

Axiom 1.1: Karina -> infinity.

Theorem 1.2: Following from axiom 1.1, we find that for all n such that n is an element in the universe of people:

Karina + n = Karina.

n/Karina = 0. Any normal person in proportion to Karina is zero.

Karina's lucky number is the square root of seven. Does this make her irrational?

English of Karina Summers:

For this class, we won't do any of that analytical stuff. Poems and stories were written to be pretty and entertain, respectively. There were no underlying symbols of government or repressed sex drives. So there. Instead, you will be assigned to read two books: Men at Arms and The Fifth Elephant, both by Terry Pratchett. Then answer the following questions:

1) How awesome is Terry Pratchett?

2) How awesome are six-foot redheaded adopted dwarves?

3) How much bigger of a part do you think Carrot, the six-foot redheaded adopted dwarf, should have gotten in The Fifth Elephant?

4) Write a poem professing your love to Carrot. If you aren't in love with Carrot, there's something wrong with you. Or you don't like guys. Whatever. If you don't love him, pretend you're Karina Summers and write a poem professing your love to Carrot. Only don't pretend that you have Karina's lack of poetic skills.

Karina Summers has finally graduated with a bachelors in economics. She continues to live in Davis but is in her teaching credential in math at Sac State, student teaching in Elk Grove.

She originally intended to double major in mathematics and music, with an emphasis in voice, but has altered these plans for fear of becoming a super-senior. For some unknown reason, she finds calculus highly amusing. She won the Wasser Prize, a mathematics competition for first and second years, in her first year. She also plays oboe and sings opera (and apologizes profusely to anyone who's heard either). Her vocal range spans four and a half octaves, much of which is inhumanly high. It's kind of creepy how high she sings. No, seriously. It's really freaking high.

Look! She finally has a picture! Isn't she so pretty?

Back in her old dorm days, she was president of the Ryerson 4 social committee, an avid member of Segundo Leadership and Activities Council, and one of approximately three members of Residency Hall Advisory Board. She encourages freshmen to be involved in these.

Miss Summers also happens to work at the Davis Public Library. She also teaches beginning voice lessons (ask her about her reasonable rates) and tutors math and math related subjects (again, reasonable rates).

She is an alumna of Lambda Omicron Xi. Kappa class represent!

The activity that commandeers most of Karina's time, however, is musical theater at Davis Musical Theater Company. Often, she is in rehearsals for one show while performing in another. In November and December 2009, she is playing Julie Jordan in Carousel, her seventeenth show in just three years.
