- a brief and extremely biased biography: - - i was born in portland, oregon in a faster birth than normal, which caused fluid to get in my lungs. i was born silent, not breathing. the med. staff shoved a tube down my throat into my lungs and got me breathing. perhaps i desired to be amphibious. the doctor brushed the procedure off as a normality and told my parents that my fingers and toes were longer than any he had ever seen. - - i moved to nevada city, california when i was three, and so this is the only place i can remember growing up. the county of nevada is shaped like a gun pointing at the state of nevada, because they supposedly took our name. a gun. what does that tell you about it? quite a lot. what else is there to tell? we have an annual "victorian christmas", which is an event where the stores set up booths on the streets and people of all ages play music and sing carols hoping for money. it's only the youngest and the cutest which succeed in doing so. other events include "hot summer nights", which is exactly the same thing but in the summer, and "cornish christmas", which is exactly the same thing but taking place in grass valley (which is really synonymous with nevada city in many ways, and which is right next to it). attending these events is a good way to familiarize yourself with the aroma of patchouli oil. - - there's a part of nevada county called "the ridge", which has been frequented by the likes of gary snyder and utah phillips. it's basically one massive area near the river (the river is something else entirely) in which weed is grown and smoked and vegan potlucks are held. - - despite the fact that it is 99 percent white, and despite the fact that it seems to be a haven for tourists, old people, rich asshole republicans, rednecks, and white trash (to an extent), there are quite a few very talented, kind, creative, intelligent people in the area, which makes it so loveable. it's sort of a musical and artistic epicenter, as far as small towns go. - - so i grew up, kicking and screaming and perhaps at times fancying myself to be much more unfortunately raised than i really was. - - it's really pretty decent.	+ Katie thinks it is a bit egotistical to write on her own page.

- = and oh my fangs = - ----- - [[Thumbnail(mephot2.jpg)]]. - the world of my dreams takes place at times when my eyes close and then, minutes later, rotate slowly and open again, this time facing my brain, this time begging to be entertained. this time itching for a fix, a tonguing, a sexual encounter with some majestic or haunting or hysterical gnashing beast of a dream. instead of seeing wrinkly grey brain matter, they see a wooden stage set with splinters, but elegantly so. elegant like a starving ballerina or a wrinkled beauty. they see and feast upon a stage of the old-fashioned sort; red velvety curtains and twisted wooden columns which allude to the sorts of old souls that make up a mossy forrest... the curtains, naturally, are stained with blood and wine, two entities common in the world of the theatre. my eyes find, to their rabid delight, that the entities of fake blood and fake wine are just as common. the fake and the real become intertwined, one as meaningful as the other. or one as meaningless. if a man dies on stage, witnessed by all, it is tragedy. if a man dies alone in the dark theatre after hours, having shot himself or having fought with a rival actor, it is a mess to be disposed of by the weary janitor come morning. this man's tragedy is witnessed only by the gods and the fat theatre rats (you can take this to mean either actors or actual rodents - either interpretation will suffice), and this tragedy is as much the stained floor's or the janitor's as it is the unfortunate actor's. and as for fake wine, an actor who pretends to be drunk from pretend wine in a pretend story enacted on a (very real) stage can be just as reckless and can fuck just as many women as a man drunk off of the real stuff as he watches the very same play from the sidelines through his own eyes (these not looking toward his brain, but swiveled the other way round and in fact quite blurred). and so my own lids weigh themselves down and my lashes flutter no more. let the mad show begin. let it haunt me even when i wake to hazy sunlight. and let the actors be as vulgar and offensive as all occupants of seedy, run-down theaters in red-light districts should rightfully be. let them spit on each other and rape the innocence of the pallid dream-ghosts which fill the theatre seats, unaware of the spectacle they will soon behold. i am one of these ghosts, and of the actors i expect madness and nothing less. - -----

You should integrate the two.'' -- ["arlen"] - * Especially because that other one is so much better! --["PhilipNeustrom"]	+ the world of my dreams takes place at times when my eyes close and then, minutes later, rotate slowly and open again, this time facing my brain, this time begging to be entertained. this time itching for a fix, a tonguing, a sexual encounter with some majestic or haunting or hysterical gnashing beast of a dream. instead of seeing wrinkly grey brain matter, they see a wooden stage set with splinters, but elegantly so. elegant like a starving ballerina or a wrinkled beauty. they see and feast upon a stage of the old-fashioned sort; red velvety curtains and twisted wooden columns which allude to the sorts of old souls that make up a mossy forrest... the curtains, naturally, are stained with blood and wine, two entities common in the world of the theatre. my eyes find, to their rabid delight, that the entities of fake blood and fake wine are just as common. the fake and the real become intertwined, one as meaningful as the other. or one as meaningless. if a man dies on stage, witnessed by all, it is tragedy. if a man dies alone in the dark theatre after hours, having shot himself or having fought with a rival actor, it is a mess to be disposed of by the weary janitor come morning. this man's tragedy is witnessed only by the gods and the fat theatre rats (you can take this to mean either actors or actual rodents - either interpretation will suffice), and this tragedy is as much the stained floor's or the janitor's as it is the unfortunate actor's. and as for fake wine, an actor who pretends to be drunk from pretend wine in a pretend story enacted on a (very real) stage can be just as reckless and can fuck just as many women as a man drunk off of the real stuff as he watches the very same play from the sidelines through his own eyes (these not looking toward his brain, but swiveled the other way round and in fact quite blurred). and so my own lids weigh themselves down and my lashes flutter no more. let the mad show begin. let it haunt me even when i wake to hazy sunlight. and let the actors be as vulgar and offensive as all occupants of seedy, run-down theaters in red-light districts should rightfully be. let them spit on each other and rape the innocence of the pallid dream-ghosts which fill the theatre seats, unaware of the spectacle they will soon behold. i am one of these ghosts, and of the actors i expect madness and nothing less.
