Major: Graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Geology, emphasizing in Geophysics
Real world doings: Currently employed by an Environmental and Engineering geology consulting firm in West Sacramento as a Senior Staff Geologist. I conduct field investigations involving monitoring wells, soil sampling, emissions monitoring, naturally occurring asbestos mitigation, and water supply aquifer modeling. I have earned my Geologist-in-Training certification and am now working towards my Professional Geologist license.
I previously worked for ASUCD Unitrans in my five-year tenure at UC Davis. In my four years of employment, I trained on the Civil Rights-era GMs, drove the 28, 35, and 40-foot Gilligs, the 38-foot Bluebirds, and the 35 and 40-foot Orions (Mark V and VII) in-service, and eventually ended up as a Route Supervisor. As I recall, I also sold and managed the advertising spaces on the fleet...repressed memories I think.
I currently live in Davis, but as of August 23rd, I'll be a Davisian once again. Yes, that means weekly visits to my favorite restaurant and bar in the Sacramento-region...Sophia's. I'll be looking for quiz team, as I am a trivia king.

2005-06-30 09:35:04 Thanks for updating the Geology page, I have been out of the loop for a few years so I was concerned about the changes. —RogerClark
2005-07-23 17:37:12 3902 ;) Now that's a bus! It's faster than 4350 =P WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE —JoAnnaRich
2005-07-26 09:55:53 El Fuego? Bring it. I'll put UCSD's short Bluebird CSFE's against that no problem (one of our drivers got busted for doing 85 on the freeway down here.) —CiaranDougherty
2005-07-26 15:55:03 3902 suffers from being a POS, while UCSD's short Bluebird are glorified shuttles, not buses. 4350 remains the reigning champion. Word to your mother.
I heard that the UCSD buses have wifi on them?
Appearantly they're not buses, but yes, some of our glorified shuttles have wifi. At the very least 2467 & 2468 (El Dorado CNGs) and possibly 1241 (BB Xcel 102), which also has something like 4 flat 17" monitors installed. Incidentally, what would y'all call a bus? —CiaranDougherty
2005-07-26 17:32:13 2819 used to be the fastest bus, hands down...what changed? —RussBowlus
2005-07-26 18:26:11 2819 is pretty speedy, but there is never an opportunity to take it over 35 in town! I bet it could hit 50 mph, easy.
2005-07-27 00:15:43 busnerds..........btw, 2819 has been known to hit around 70 on the freeway —BenWebber

2005-10-09 00:23:50 "There'll be a test next Tuesday." ... no there wasn't!! It's been many many Tuesdays and still no tests! I'm disappointed in you. —CindySperry
