Favorite Local Restaurants
Fuji Chef - I eat a lot, so if there's decent sushi (especially sashimi) for thirteen bucks, I'm going to like the restaurant.
House of Chang - When you do not have a car, delivery food is awesome. They have pretty good food (although Chinese food usually never tastes different no matter where you go) and pretty quick delivery.
Sunrise Restaurant - Really good sammiches for under three bucks? Count me in!
Taqueria Guadalajara - Free chips and you don't have to pay extra for sour cream or guacamole, which is a nice difference from most other burrito places.

Howdy... err... Han or Hank or ...??? (Sorry, your username is a bit ambiguous). My name's Evan, pleased to meet you! I answered your question about Hickey Pool. Welcome to the Wiki! —Evan 'JabberWokky' Edwards
2009-09-21 12:34:12 Hi there. Based on the signage on the door, the business name for the new yogurt shop appears to be SugarPlum (no space), a Wiki page that already exists. (Unless you have info from another source, such as its website? I didn't find anything on this company when I did a simple search.) So I redirected the newest "Sugar Plum Yogurt" page to the existing one. It probably needed to be done eventually anyway. —robinlaughlin
2009-10-15 05:19:55 AS Papers no longer receives a subsidy because the unit was for the most part slashed. However, money will still be spent on this as the unit now falls under the direction of the ASUCD Vice President who will hire a coordinator of sorts to run AS Papers. The "alternative media" is under the direction of the executive office. Only in ASUCD. —GregWebb
2009-10-15 10:25:55 It would fall under Vice President in the budget, probably as a line item. Unfortunately the budget details are not online, just the funding towards each unit. There is a $756* increase for the office of the vice president, perhaps that's for the AS Papers coordinator. I can't say for certain because I don't have access to the budget but the Controller or Vice President could give you that information. Generally the executive office is allocated funds in the budget but their use is never actually defined, basically it's discretionary.
The decision to remove the autonomy of AS Papers was made during budget hearings, the minutes for that meeting do not appear to be online either.

Again, it's very difficult to cite my sources because information is not readily available on the ASUCD website and this is unfortunate. You'll have to make your way to the Ivory Tower (3rd Floor MU) to get the details. —GregWebb
2009-10-15 10:58:31 Yeah, AS Papers gets a coordinator through the office of the Vice President who looks after AS Papers, which no longer receives its own budget. —EliYani
