We asked the driver to take us to Sudwerks. The driver was friendly but very unprofessional and ended up ripping us off. First he picked us up and started driving without closing my door. We laughed if off after he said he was trying to eject me from the car. Then, he proceeded to take the highway. As he was merging he took a phone call which is dangerous and illegal in itself but he also unknowingly nearly crashed into to a 16-wheeler. Fortunately, the truck changed lanes for our cab. The driver then drove erratically the rest of the stretch of highway. We noticed the meter rising 25 cents every few seconds and knew there had to be some kind of mistake. Not only did he take a strangely long route to Sudwerks, he over charged. After hesitantly forking over 22 dollars we asked what the rate per mile was and he told us that it was 5 dollars per mile. Later, I called village cab asking what the rate was and the dispatch was incredibly rude, refusing to answer my question. So, I hung up. I got a call back (From Max) later saying they owed us 3 dollars because the driver was new and took the wrong route. Later that night, I checked davis wiki and saw that the rate is $2.50 an hour and not 5. I also checked goolge maps and Sudwerks is 3 miles from my house. The fee should have been 5 flat rate+2.50 per mile x 3. If we were charged correctly the total should have been $12.50 not $22. A student discount was never mentioned but I don't even care at this point. The service was appallingly unprofessional and a refund is due.
-
- --["Users/Tater"]
- ------
- 2009-08-28 12:47:22 nbsp All the comments are positive on this page. Yes, it is fair to say that in a transaction of this kind change should be presented to the payer as swiftly as possible to avoid the appearance of dishonesty. I would ask if 'marty' was actually there when this exchange took place, and if not, why so harsh a judgment? Is it at all possible there was a simple misunderstanding? How do you know the driver acted 'very poorly?'...I definitely agree that absolutely noone should ever be short-changed. But I also believe you can short-change someone's credibility by assigning pre-mature judgement when they their performance falls short in an isolated instance. I stand firmly behind the honesty of Village Cab drivers as well as for the fairness and kindness of those thousands of customers we have served and hope to serve. We will make every effort to insure all of our patrons are served as safely and in as timely a manner as is expected. I will personally work to address any question of honesty or integrity that arises. It helps sometimes to first air these points out person to person rather than on an open stage; there can be details about an exchange that go unrevealed when there is no room allowed for personal dialog and understanding. Eda, we are sorry that your change was not given before you asked and we hope you can feel assured that this incident will make us a better business. I was running completely late for my train out of town for the weekend and I was freaking out. I called several other cab companies, and none of them could pick me up or take a credit card, and Village Cab completely saved me. Even though the driver was already taking people down to the train station during peak Davis traffic, he came all the way back and got me to the train station just in time for me to get on my train. Without him, I would've missed my train and completely thrown off all my plans. From now on, Village Cab will be the first taxi service I call, every time! --["HannahReff"]

Village Cabhttp://daviswiki.org/Village_Cab2005-12-03 15:51:59JennSuzukiComment added.
Differences for Village Cab

 Deletions are marked with - .

 Additions are marked with +.

Line 15:

Line 15:

+ ------
+ 2005-12-03 16:51:59 nbsp the guy who runs village cab is super nice, and they give student discounts --["JennSuzuki"]

Village Cabhttp://daviswiki.org/Village_Cab2005-12-03 15:51:05JennSuzuki
Differences for Village Cab

 Deletions are marked with - .

 Additions are marked with +.

Line 13:

Line 13:

+
+ Comments

Village Cabhttp://daviswiki.org/Village_Cab2005-09-25 08:50:52JasonAllerlink
Differences for Village Cab

 Deletions are marked with - .

 Additions are marked with +.

Line 11:

Line 11:

+
+ One of the modes of ["transportation"] in town.

Village Cabhttp://daviswiki.org/Village_Cab2005-09-23 09:57:44DavidAnthonyAdded information to the listing for Village Cab.
Differences for Village Cab

 Deletions are marked with - .

 Additions are marked with +.

Line 10:

Line 10:

-

+ We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

Village Cabhttp://daviswiki.org/Village_Cab2005-09-23 09:39:59DavidAnthonyAdding an info page for Village Cab
Differences for Village Cab

 Deletions are marked with - .

 Additions are marked with +.

Line 1:

Line 1:

+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>Location||
+ ||From your front door to anywhere you would like to go.||
+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>Hours||
+ ||You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week||
+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>Phone||
+ ||(530)753-TAXI (530) 753-8294||
+ ||<bgcolor='#E0E0FF'>Website||
+ ||||
+
+
