This is a page for the Wiki Community to discuss Archiving Comments
There are a number of business that have had their comments archived. The first was Bistro 33 because the comment section got too long. Other businesses have had their comments archived when there was a change of management, or when the number of comments got high (which is a value judgement).
Proposed social norms for archiving comments:
-
When a business changes hands it makes sense to archive the comments because the business isn't the same any more.
-
When the number of comments in a short time (judgement call) by accounts that have only left comments (negative or positive) on this one page ("one use accounts") rises above a threshold (judgement call).
-
Then the number of comments is large (judgement call) and there is a clear dividing line in time to archive them off by (change of year).

There was discussion about this on one of the Wiki Community forums. I've been using that so far when archiving off very old reviews. Heading out the door in a few minutes, but if someone wants to dig it out, it would be a starting point, although it only addresses point 3.
2008-03-11 10:56:38 I am the practice manager for Dr. Alex Tomaich. I am wondering why a comment is missing from his page. It was the first comment posted and a very positive one. —AngelaGerould

While removing or altering other people's reviews is generally frowned upon, editors sometimes remove (or add to or revise) their own reviews. You would have to ask Cynthia herself why she chose to remove her review. —Evan 'JabberWokky' Edwards
