This page is for discussing the contents of Wiki Community/For Profit Restrictions.

This page has a lot of valuable information in the comments that should be integrated. Currently, you need to read a heck of a lot to really get the gist of what all is going on. I think it'd be worth putting together a bulleted list of the major points and archiving the discussion, either here or on a /discussion page. Because I wasn't involved in the original discussion I'm a little hesitant to take it on myself, but I can give it a shot if no one else is interested. —TomGarberson

Almost all of those comments were written when the exact-IRS language was pasted into the page. Since revising the text (at the top, and at the community guidelines page), it's much easier to understand. And intentionally vague so people here can decide what to do with specific cases. There's specifics folks here will want to hash out, like whether to include full menus on pages, etc, but I think the best solution may be to clear out the old discussion entirely - it's based on text no longer on the page. —PhilipNeustrom

Unfortunately I am swamped right now, otherwise I'd mill through and integrate some of the thoughts from the comments here. Right now, though, I feel that removing some of these misleading comments is important. I think starting a new discussion on each of the topics is the most productive, and least worrisome (of confusion, worry, etc by folks) option. I've added sections for each initial little sub-topic that's been discussed.PhilipNeustrom

I moved up some of the guidelines, but I don't want to be the only one who picks through. Tom (or anybody else), if you can check if there are any other summary viewpoints that express a good general guideline (post-updated language, or at least that makes sense with the exact IRS language), and then delete the discussion, it would probably make it a usable entry. -jw
