The Bike Forth is a DIY bicycle repair shop operated by the Davis Bike Collective.
Hours
Regular Open Shop
Come by to use tools, fix your bike(s), drop off donations, pick up some sweet parts, and learn skills during these hours. Our ministers are in the shop to help you out and guide you through whatever you may need to do.
Women Trans Femme (WTF) Workshop
Tuesdays 5-7 PM
Come by for organized workshops focused on how bikes work and what gender's got to do with it! Check out more info here.
Acolyte Training
Mondays 5:30-7:00 PM
The acolyte training workshops are a weekly workshop series where volunteers can learn the ways of the ministry. Each week a new topic will be covered. The workshop topics for each week will be announced through the volunteer email list. The first 10 participants to RSVP to <workshops AT davisbikecollective DOT org> will get a spot in the workshop.
Open Bike Night
Mondays 7~8 PM
Open Bike Night is a time to use the space at the Bike Forth for all kinds of fun stuff (bike-related fun will be given priority!). Open Bike Night is every Monday Night starting at 7:00pm at Bike Forth. Anyone is welcome to participate or put on an event that is 30 minutes to 2 hours long. Send an email to <openbikenight AT davisbikecollective DOT org> if you would like to host an event or have any questions.
What does it cost?
You won't find price tags at Bike Forth - payment is flexible, it's all about fairness, equity, ability, and inclination. This is strange, eh?, but we hope you get the drift.
To be clear, we ask for $5 donation per hour spent in the shop, and a fair contribution for whatever parts and materials are used (we do have a recommended donation range for each type of part). In lieu of a donation we're also happy to have your volunteer time in exchange; we ask for 1/2 the time spent using the space - if you spend two hours in the shop, stay another hour to volunteer.
Keep in mind that there are many real and significant expenses to run Bike Forth (including rent, insurance, utilities, improvements), it's in your hands to contribute enough to keep the community shop afloat.
