Dixon Scottish Games & Gathering

Ticket from the 2005 festivalThe Dixon Scottish Games & Gathering is an annual event in Dixon hosted by the Dixon Scottish Cultural Association. The festivities include music of the Irish, Scottish, and Celtic traditions; sports such as rugby and shinty exhibition games; booths featuring jewelry, woodworking, knives, paintings, drawings, and other artisanal items; jousting and cannon demonstrations; Scottish familial clan booths; and falconry exhibits featuring live hawks, eagles, and owls. A parade features dancers, bagpipers, and dachshunds. UC Davis' rugby teams participate in the exhibition games.
