Entomology is the study of bugs, insects, arthropods, and mites as well as their interactions with nature and people. The entomology department at UCD belongs to the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The department offers major, minor and graduate programs (PhD and masters) of study, as well as the ability to study abroad. According to the 2007 Chronicle of Higher Education rankings, UCD has the #1 ranking entomology department of all PhD-awarding research institutions in the country.
