Superintendent Darrel Taylor, ca 1985
Darrel Taylor (born ca 1932 in Kansas; died 28 February 2016 in Claremont, California) was Superintendent of Davis JUSD from 1984-1994. He attended college at Pepperdine University, ultimately earning a doctorate in education. He was superintendent of the Perris Union High School District (Riverside County, California) just before coming to Davis, and left Davis to become superintendent of the Fairfield-Suisun district until 1998. After that he served as interim superintendent for a number of districts, including Merced City, Oxnard, Vacaville Unified, Pasadena Unified, and Gilroy.
